Eligibility Criteria:
Age Limit:
Candidates born between June 27, 2003, and December 27, 2006, are eligible for Agniveer Vayu posts. In case, a candidate clears all the stages of the Selection Procedure, then the upper age limit as on date of enrollment is 21 years.
Education Qualification:
Educational qualifications vary based on science or non-science subjects.
- For Science Subjects: Candidates must have passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from a recognized Education Board, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
OR
Completed a three-year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/Computer Science /Instrumentation Technology/Information Technology) from a recognized Polytechnic institute, with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the diploma course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in the Diploma Course).
OR
Completed a two-year Vocational Course with non-vocational subject (Physics and Maths) from State Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT, with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the vocational course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in the Vocational Course).
- For Other Than Science Subjects: Candidates must have passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent examination in any subject approved by Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
OR
Completed a two-year vocational course from Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the vocational course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in the Vocational Course).
Mandatory Medical Standards:
The general medical standards for Agniveer Vayu are as follows:
- Height: Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cms for male candidates and 152 cms for female candidates.
- Chest: The chest wall should have a minimum range of expansion of 5 cms and be well proportioned.
- Weight: Should be proportionate to height and age.
- Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK): Not acceptable. Visual requirements must meet Indian Air Force standards.
- Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing, able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.
- Dental: Should have healthy gums, a good set of teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points.
- General Health: Candidate should have a normal anatomy without any loss of appendages. They should be free from any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or infection and skin ailments. Candidates should be physically and mentally fit to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.
