Eligibility and Application
Eligibility Criteria:
- Education: Candidates should possess an M.Sc. degree in Mathematics or Statistics.
- Aggregate Marks: Candidates must have obtained at least 55% marks in their master's degree examination (Equivalent CGPA in 10 point scale). SC/ST candidates with 50% marks in aggregate are also eligible to apply.
Age Limit:
The upper age limit for applicants is 28 years, as on 25-07-2023. However, there are age relaxations available for SC/ST/OBC/Women candidates as per the norms set by the Government of India. [Click here to Calculate your age]
Application Procedure:
Selection Procedure:
- Entrance Test: All eligible candidates will be required to appear for an entrance test. However, candidates holding national fellowships from different funding agencies like CSIR-UGC-NET/DBT-JRF/ICMR-JRF/ICAR-JRF, etc., are exempted from the written test.
- Interview: After the entrance test, shortlisted candidates will proceed to the interview round. The interview performance will be a crucial factor in the final selection process.
The dates for the entrance test and interview will be communicated to the selected candidates and posted on the IASST website. The institute will upload the list of applicants selected for the entrance test on their website.
Please note that the decisions of the admission committee will be final, and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
Fellowship/Financial Support:
Selected candidates will be required to join the institutional fellowship program of IASST. They will receive a monthly stipend and annual contingency as per the recent circular of DST, Govt. of India, on fellowship for Ph.D. Additionally, based on seat availability, selected candidates may be provided accommodation in the Dorothy Hodgkin Student and Scientists Home.
